My cycling gear from CRC has arrived. I always suspected that I had only a vague idea of just how good modern, high-quality specialist gear is, but now I understand it clearly.
The Deuter backpack has a million little details thought through. There are fasteners everywhere for adjusting it precisely to you and the size of the load, a rigid back panel, and ventilated straps and back panel. But what completely stunned me was that its lower compartment already contains a rain cover—and it is elasticated and reflective!
Only now am I beginning to understand why people love brands so much under capitalism. When a company really makes things as high-quality as Salomon and Deuter do, then in cases like these I am all for it after all. (Although I used to be almost entirely against it).
